David Ives’ hit erotic comedy Venus in Fur has announced a second extension at Classic Stage Company. The play, which stars Wes Bentley and Nina Arianda and is directed by Walter Bobbie, will continue for an additional three weeks at CSC’s off-Broadway theater, through March 28. Venus in Fur opened on January 26 and has now become the longest-running production in CSC’s 42-year history.
Inspired by the infamous erotic novel of the same name, Venus in Fur takes us behind the scenes of an audition, where a playwright and actress blur the lines between fantasy and reality, seduction and power, love and sex.
Sets for Venus in Fur are by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Anita Yavitch, lighting by Peter Kaczorowski and sound by Acme Sound Partners.
